Wayne Halfway House Inc. Completes Renovations to Waynesboro’s Historic Public Square

After three years of construction and renovation, Wayne Halfway House Inc. has completed its revitalization of Waynesboro’s historic Public Square. 

WHH acquired six vacant buildings on the square in 2024, with plans to restore and renovate them, turning them into an inviting, multifaceted headquarters for the family-owned suite of businesses, which includes Wayne Halfway House Inc. and its portfolio of juvenile facilities that are focused on positive rehabilitation, commercial linen and cleaning supply business C&B Linen, and Guesswork IT Solutions. 

Bevis Construction was the contractor for all the renovation projects, which total more than 35,300 square feet of offices, an employee training center, flexible recreation/event spaces, a cafeteria and more. 

“After three years, we have finished our construction and renovation projects in the historic downtown square,” said Jason Crews, President and CEO of Wayne Halfway House Inc. “Waynesboro represents the best of small-town Tennessee living. Investing back in this community that we love not only makes good business sense, it also makes Waynesboro an even more attractive place to live and work.” 

While the renovation projects were ongoing, WHH also constructed a new commercial linen facility and a gymnasium and education facility, totaling an additional 28,000 square feet. 

“Main Streets are disappearing all across the country,” said Crews. “By restoring these overlooked and neglected properties, we’re doing our small part to turn that trend around. It’s an honor to bring these historic buildings back to life, preserving Waynesboro’s history and offering an exciting future where people can find opportunities and take pride in their hometown.”
